Nikia Village

Nikia sits high on the caldera rim above the Stefanos crater. It offers the best viewpoints of the active hydrothermal volcano.

Most visitors stop in Nikia to look down into the 4-kilometer-wide caldera before descending to the crater floor. The village features traditional whitewashed architecture and narrow streets.

You can reach Nikia by rental car or as part of a guided tour from Mandraki port. Driving from the port to the village takes about 20 minutes.
